International Tea Festival to be held in Ilam, Nepal on June 8-10

From June 8 to 10, Ilam Bazar, known as the tea capital of Nepal, will play home to an international tea festival.

The mayor of the town of Ilam, Kedar Thapa, declared that the main goal of the occasion is to introduce the world to the remarkable quality of Nepali tea. He underlined that tea industry executives, growers, business owners, and connoisseurs from all over the world will be actively participating in the event.

Mayor Thapa stated, “In response to the worries expressed by tea growers and traders about inadequate publicity resulting in reduced pricing for their produce, we are taking the initiative to establish the international tea festival under the Municipality’s leadership.

Even so, Nepalese tea is regarded as high quality and organic.” He also emphasized that, should Nepalese tea exports be increased to foreign markets, tea might contribute significantly to foreign exchange gains.

Mayor Thapa emphasized the festival’s goals, stressing the value of encouraging farmers to cultivate tea and creating an atmosphere that is favorable to tea sales. He was upbeat about the festival’s potential to significantly raise awareness of Nepali tea on the international scene.
