25 March, 2024 Terai Holi,

Today, the vibrant festival of Holi is being joyously celebrated across the Terai regions, including Rupandehi, marked by the exchange of warm greetings and the spirit of unity and joy.

This morning, several organizations held events to celebrate the occasion. The local Federation of Nepali Journalists brought together journalists and supporters to spread messages of joy and unity.

Holi is characterized by the use of various colors, with participants gleefully applying them to one another’s faces. Yellow holds a special place as it is favored by Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna, while blue symbolizes the divine struggle. It is also said that Lord Ganesha appreciates all colors, with red representing strength and prosperity.

In the southern plains of Nepal, known as the Terai, Holi is especially significant and is celebrated as the triumph of righteousness over malfeasance.
