Thamel to operate around the clock, Starting from April 13

Starting April 13, Thamel is scheduled to operate around the clock. The Thamel Tourism Development Council has declared that businesses in the Thamel and Durbar Marga regions will function continuously from Nepali New Year’s Day onward. Chairperson Bhabiswor Sharma affirmed that all necessary preparations have been made to facilitate 24/7 operations in these areas.

Security and management duties will be overseen by the Kathmandu District Administration Office. Assistant Chief District Officer Hari Prasad Sharma assured that security measures are in place to ensure the smooth running of nighttime business operations.

Furthermore, safety guidelines have been put in place based on input from stakeholders. All tourism-related establishments, such as clubs, dance venues, and discos, will remain open.

Nighttime business activities will encompass all parts of Thamel except Bhagawanbahal, with consultations and coordination among stakeholders. Businesses that fail to adhere to the specified standards will be subject to closure from April 14 onwards.
