The European Union (EU) has committed to helping Nepal draw in investment. The objective of the upcoming “EU-Nepal Trade Forum” in Kathmandu, according to EU Ambassador to Nepal Veronique Lorenzo, is to promote European investment in Nepal.

During a celebration honoring the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Nepal and the European Union, Ambassador Lorenzo shared details on the agenda for the second meeting of the forum, which is set to take place in Kathmandu on May 15–16. Its main goal will be to close Nepal’s deficit in foreign investment.

She emphasized the involvement of EU businesses in the meeting, which will examine possible investment areas in Nepal.

The Ambassador also underscored Nepal’s efforts to leave the list of least developed nations by 2026, emphasizing how crucial it is to promote economic growth and job opportunities in order to make this shift.
